Integrating Aboriginal Ways of Knowing

This presentation discusses: (a) difficulties experienced by Aboriginal youth in Canada, including elevated rates of incarceration, (b) two theories relevant to the study of Aboriginal youth (i.e., Bronfenbrenner’s Ecological Systems Theory and School Attachment Theory), (c) Aboriginal ways of knowing and educational programming, and (d) techniques for integrating Aboriginal methods of practice into our current educational system.
